The idea was to provide third-generation Cuban-Americans and Cubans in general, as well as any individual interested in the Cuban story an Internet site that encompasses all Cuba related information on the Internet and allows them to learn about Cuban culture and heritage. Also providing a means of communication and interaction with Cubans living across the globe. In essence, a virtual community for Cubans.

LiceoCubano.com started out as a Cuban cultural site that offered information on Cuba's history - from its independence from Spain to providing folklore stories. After receiving several inquiries on some of Cuba's patriots from third-generation Cuban-Americans and also noting that several of the inquiries where from Cubans living in various areas; we believed that an on-line virtual community was needed, facilitating interaction between these individuals and establishing a central point for all Cuba related information on the Internet.
